Lizzie Borden took an ax
Gave her mother forty whacks….
LIZZIE retells the story of American legend Lizzie Borden as a four woman rock musical. It’s 1892 in Fall River, Massachusetts, and tensions are rising with the summer temperatures in the Borden household. Inspired by the sound and spirit of the riot grrrl movement, the musical keys into the rage of women living in a world that confines and denies them. When Lizzie reaches her breaking point, she slashes her way into infamy.
Our production of LIZZIE was performed on the lawn outside the Palmer House in Princeton, NJ.
